Trevor Milton Appointed to Lead SyberJet’s SJ36 Light Jet Program

October 07, 2025

PHOENIX, AZ (October 7, 2025) – SyberJet Aircraft today announced the appointment of Trevor Milton as Chief Executive Officer. Milton will guide the development of the SyberJet SJ36, the all-new light jet designed to be the first and only light jet in the world that is expected to fly from LA to Hawaii non-stop or NYC to LA non-stop. It is expected to be the fastest light jet ever certified at Mach .88.

The SJ36 program builds on the proven SJ30 platform and is being engineered to outperform every major competitor in the category. With certification targeted for 2032, the SJ36 is designed as a single-pilot, nine-seat aircraft that will expand the limits of what operators expect from a light jet.

Raising the Bar for Light Jet Performance

Key performance goals of the SJ36 include:

  • Cruise speed of Mach 0.88
  • 3,000 nautical mile range
  • Sea-level cabin pressure to 41,000 feet
  • 49,000 ft operating ceiling
  • Over the air updates for avionics, diagnostics and cabin controllers

“Over the last 20 years, SyberJet already built something extraordinary with the SJ30,” said Milton. “Our job now is to take that foundation and push beyond every limit—speed, range, altitude, comfort, and avionics. The SJ36 will show the industry what’s possible when you refuse to accept compromises. We have aerodynamic studies already showing the SJ36 operating up to Mach .95 without major shock wave forming over our new wing design. We can’t wait to deliver a single pilot jet that is certified up to Mach .88”

A Vision Shared with the Public

SyberJet plans to share behind-the-scenes progress through a filmed YouTube series, offering a rare look inside the development of one of aviation’s most ambitious new programs. This initiative will allow aviation enthusiasts and the broader public to witness milestone achievements on the path to certification of the SJ36. It will give behind the scenes, real life footage of the difficult process of certifying the jet and overcoming the issues that arise each day.  The first episodes are expected to be released by Fall of 2026.
