SyberJet Aircraft Announces the selection of Williams International FJ44-4 to Power the SJ36 Light Jet
October 15, 2025
PHOENIX, AZ (October 15, 2025) –
SyberJet Aircraft today announce Williams as the exclusive engine supplier for SyberJet’s next-generation light jet, the SJ36.
The FJ44-4A is built to deliver exceptional performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability, generating 3,621 pounds of thrust each, and providing a combined total of more than 7,200 pounds for an aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of 18,500 pounds—yielding an impressive 38.9% thrust-to-weight ratio.
The SJ36 program is engineered to redefine expectations in light-jet performance, targeting a cruise speed of Mach 0.88, a range of 3,000 nautical miles, and a service ceiling of 49,000 feet. Upon certification, the SJ36 is expected to become the fastest and longest-range light jet in the world, capable of nonstop missions such as New York to Los Angeles and Los Angeles to Hawaii.
First flights are expected to happen in 2027 with certification and deliveries in 2032.
Williams International, globally recognized for its FJ44 family of turbofan engines, will collaborate closely with SyberJet’s advanced engineering team to integrate propulsion technologies tailored for high-speed, high-efficiency flight envelopes enabling the SJ36 to reach its ambitious performance targets while maintaining SyberJet’s single-pilot capability.
“Williams International is the clear choice for this program,” said Trevor Milton, Chief Executive Officer of SyberJet Aircraft. “The FJ44 is a workhorse and extremely reliable. There is just no other engine like it in my opinion. Together, we’re taking that proven foundation and pushing it further than ever before. The SJ36 will not only set new records for speed and range - but it will also represent a breakthrough in what pilots and passengers can expect from the light jet category. You couldn’t ask for a better partnership than this.”
“We’re thrilled that SyberJet Aircraft is creating new horizons for light jets with the SJ36 and are honored that the FJ44-4A has been selected,” said Gregg Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Williams International. “The FJ44-4A engine offers unprecedented performance, exceptional durability and reliability, and the industry’s best lifetime maintenance plan, and is a perfect match for the SJ36.
