OUR
HISTORY
ORIGINS OF
THE SJ30
The SJ30 program began in the late 1980s as a vision by aviation entrepreneur Ed Swearingen, a renowned aircraft designer behind several innovative light jet and turboprop platforms. Swearingen Aircraft sought to develop a revolutionary light business jet that would combine long range, high speed, and unmatched cabin pressurization in a compact, efficient package. The aircraft—initially known as the Swearingen SJ30—was designed with ambitious goals: a service ceiling of 49,000 feet, a sea-level cabin altitude up to 41,000 feet, and transcontinental range in a small airframe. These features would eventually become signature strengths of the SJ30 series.

EARLY
DEVELOPMENT
After years of development, including numerous redesigns and certification challenges, the SJ30 entered its flight-testing phase in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, the program gained new momentum under the stewardship of Sino Swearingen which received FAA Type Certification in 2006 and began aircraft production.
THE BIRTH
OF SYBERJET
In 2011, SyberJet Aircraft was formed when Metalcraft Technologies—a long-time SJ30 component manufacturer—acquired the program assets. This marked a turning point. Backed by a skilled aerospace manufacturing base in Cedar City, Utah, and guided by a commitment to modernizing the platform, SyberJet took the helm with a clear mission: evolve the SJ30 into the world’s most advanced light jet.

SYBERJET
TODAY

SyberJet was acquired by a new investment group in 2024. A new executive team was established – now led by renowned entrepreneur Trevor Milton. Milton brought to market the first ever hydrogen electric semi-truck in America and changed the trajectory of zero emission heavy duty trucking. With a deep passion for aviation as a certified airplane and helicopter pilot, he is now leading company operations and product strategy for SyberJet.
BUILDING
THE FUTURE
Headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, SyberJet is working relentlessly to become one of the most vertically integrated jet manufacturers in the world. SyberJet has begun development on its own full glass cockpit avionics suite known as SyberVision.
With groundbreaking developments underway in our connected avionics system, SyberJet is building the future of aviation – faster, safer, and smarter.
